Depreciation I experienced on an S-Type in Switzerland

Depreciation - Depreciation I have experienced from running an S-Type in Switzerland

My Dealer in Switzerland is aware of all the problems I have experienced with my S-Type. I asked them to take into consideration all these faults - many outstanding - and make me an offer to trade my present S-Type in for an identical spec new S-Type (January 2005).

Jaguar S-Type 4.2 Executive 2002, fully loaded, 18,000 miles - cost new 100,000 CHF
DEALER's Offer as trade-in against new S-Type Eurotax Price (*)
CHF 37,000 CHF 43,000 dealer - 51,000 Private

Retained value on Jaguar S-Type 4.2 - after 2.5 years and 18,000 miles
From Dealer Eurotax
37% of initial purchase price 43 - 51% of initial purchase price
49 - 57% Depreciation

The ONLY conclusion I can take from this Offer is that my Dealer does not want my repeat custom and does not want my S-Type back. I can find NO other reason for this behaviour.

I now cannot ethically, or professionally, sell or trade my S-Type without first declaring these defects.

(*) Eurotax guide - This is the guide all dealers in Switzerland use when calculating 2nd hand car prices. This value was calculated online from EuroTax (Eurotax website). I also confirmed the Eurotax trade-in price with another Jaguar Dealer and a BMW Dealer. ONLY my Dealer was 7,000 CHFs lower than the bottom guide price.
